Elena Vasileiadi Drakotou, MD, MSc, PhD

Dr. Elena Vasileiadi Drakotou is a Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist with extensive expertise in oncologic imaging, prostate MRI, and advanced diagnostic imaging applications. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens on a Papadakis Foundation scholarship and completed her residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Alexandra and Aretaieion University Hospitals in Athens.

She holds a PhD with Honors from the First Department of Radiology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens under the supervision of Professor Lampros Vlachos, as well as an MSc in Oncologic Imaging supervised by Professor Emmanuele Neri. She is RECIST-certified by both the European Society of Oncologic Imaging (ESOI) and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and currently serves as an imaging consultant for more than 50 international oncologic clinical trials.

In March 2026, during the annual congress of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in Vienna, she successfully passed the European Certification in Prostate MRI Examination organized by the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR) and endorsed by ESR.

In 2007, she co-founded Ygeia Iatriki Apeikonisi in Larissa, Central Greece, where she currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. The center provides advanced imaging services including 3T MRI, CT, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, Ultrasound, X-ray, DEXA, and Dental Imaging, with a strong focus on innovation and artificial intelligence applications in radiology.

Since 2019, Dr. Vasileiadi Drakotou has served as Global Key Opinion Leader and Medical Advisor for Planmed, the Finnish imaging technology company internationally recognized for innovation in mammography and dental imaging.

She is also an active lecturer and invited speaker at radiology congresses and educational courses in Greece and abroad, with particular interest in oncologic imaging, prostate MRI, breast imaging, and advanced MRI applications.
