Takeshi Fukuda, MD, PhD

Dr. Takeshi Fukuda is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at The Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo, specializing in musculoskeletal imaging. He completed his radiology training at Jikei University Hospital and, from 2017 to 2019, served as a visiting scholar in the Department of Radiology at Stony Brook University in New York, USA. He subsequently earned his PhD in 2020.


Dr. Fukuda’s research focuses on advanced MRI techniques and dual-energy CT for musculoskeletal disorders. He has published in leading journals and contributed to book chapters as well as national imaging guidelines in Japan. One of his papers received the 30th Annual Best Paper Award of the Japan Radiological Society. His scientific presentations have also been recognized with multiple awards from the Asian Musculoskeletal Society and the Japanese Society of Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Radiology.


Dr. Fukuda is an active member of several Japanese societies, as well as the International Skeletal Society, RSNA, ISMRM, and the Asian Musculoskeletal Society, where he currently serves on the Executive Committee. He is also an organizing committee member of the Japanese Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology.


In addition, he serves on the editorial board of Skeletal Radiology and is a frequent reviewer for high-impact journals, having received multiple Radiology Editor’s Recognition Awards for reviewing with distinction.
